1. Introduction

Cesteg Engineering is committed to combating modern slavery and human trafficking in all its forms. This statement sets out the steps we have taken to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in our business or supply chains. We are dedicated to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships.

2. Our Business

Cesteg Engineering is a civil engineering and renewable energy company based in Zimbabwe. We provide engineering services and solutions across various sectors, with a focus on sustainable and innovative practices.

3. Our Commitment

We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and are committed to:

  • Acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships
  • Implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains
  • Ensuring transparency in our approach to tackling modern slavery throughout our supply chains

4. Our Policies

We operate the following policies that describe our approach to the identification of modern slavery risks and steps to be taken to prevent slavery and human trafficking in our operations:

  • Whistleblowing Policy: We encourage all our workers, customers, and other business partners to report any concerns related to our direct activities or our supply chains.
  • Employee Code of Conduct: Our code makes clear to employees the actions and behavior expected of them when representing our organization.
  • Supplier Code of Conduct: We are committed to ensuring that our suppliers adhere to the highest standards of ethics and comply with all relevant laws and regulations.

5. Due Diligence Processes

We have in place systems to:

  • Identify and assess potential risk areas in our supply chains
  • Mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains
  • Monitor potential risk areas in our supply chains
  • Protect whistle blowers

6. Risk Assessment and Management

We have conducted a risk assessment of our supply chain by taking into account:

  • The risk profile of individual countries based on the Global Slavery Index
  • The business services rendered by the suppliers
  • The presence of vulnerable demographic groups
  • A news analysis and the insights of labor and human rights groups

This assessment will be reviewed periodically and will inform our contract processes and the monitoring of our suppliers.

7. Supplier Adherence to Our Values

We have zero tolerance for slavery and human trafficking. To ensure all those in our supply chain and contractors comply with our values, we have in place a rigorous supply chain compliance program. This consists of:

  • Supplier pre-screening and selection process
  • Supplier audits and assessments
  • Training and awareness programs for our procurement team

8. Training

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we provide training to our staff. We also require our business partners to provide training to their staff and suppliers.

9. Our Effectiveness in Combating Slavery and Human Trafficking

We use the following key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure how effective we have been to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains:

  • Staff training levels
